Tioga Pass offers skiers with incredible ski terrain and a season that, depending on snow fall, can last until June. One of these ski areas includes Mount Dana. The ascent route leaves from the spring closure gate and climbs through a canyon where Dana Lakes reside just below Mount Dana. From here, you'll climb up the couloir to the summit and return the same route. This trip can be done earlier in the season, however, due to winter road closure along Tioga Pass, you will have to ski or hike 6 miles up Tioga Pass from the closed gate. Check with Yosemite National Park for up to date information on road closures and openings. Difficulty Rating: II S5-
